This privacy policy has been updated to include the new standards of the European data protection law known as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which came into effect on 25th May 2018. This new version explains what data we collect, why we collect it and for how long we retain it.

Comments: If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. An anonymized string created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Newsletter: This website offers a newsletter subscription service which is managed by It uses the double opt-in process by which subscribers acknowledge that they would like to join the mailing list by clicking a link in a confirmation email message. It is used to ensure that only people who want to receive the information are subscribed to the list.

The information collected from subscribers includes their name, email address and IP address. Cookies may be used to remember if a subscriber is already registered and whether to show certain notifications which might only be valid to subscribed or unsubscribed users. These cookies remain in place for the lifetime of the subscription. Subscribers can unsubscribe at any time from the newsletter and their details are then permanently deleted from the database.

Google Analytics: This site uses Google Analytics which is one of the most widespread and trusted analytics solution on the web for helping us to understand how visitors use the site and ways that we can improve your experience. These cookies may track things such as how long you spend on the site and the pages that you visit so we can continue to produce engaging content. The user and event data retention period in our account is set to 14 months which allows us to compare year on year traffic data.

Google Adsense: The Google AdSense service which we use to serve ads is set to show only non-personalised ads to users in the European Economic Area (EEA). This which means that they are targeted using contextual information rather than the past behaviour of a user. Although these ads don’t use cookies for ads personalisation, they do use cookies to allow for frequency capping, aggregated ad reporting and to combat fraud and abuse.

Social Media: We use social media buttons and/or plugins on this site which allow you to connect with your favourite social networks. Contact Forms

This website has two contact forms provided by a 3rd party plugin which collects a name and email address. The plugin does not store any personal details from forms but simply delivers an email to one of two Spanish Fiestas email addresses. The software does not use cookies.

General Enquiries: Emails sent to the general enquiry address are deleted once the matter has been dealt with. They are never shared with 3rd parties.

Tour Enquiries: Emails sent to the tours address are shared with our travel partner who organises the custom tours which appear on the website. They are then deleted from our server within 30 days. No information submitted in contact forms or emails is shared with 3rd parties without the permission of the enquirer.
