The Jaen Parador was formerly the 13th century Arabic fortress the Santa
Catalina Castle. Surrounded by pine trees and situated at the very top of the
Santa Catalina hill it offers magnificent, panoramic views of the whole area.
The main living room has 20 metre high crossed arches and the dining room has a
very Arabic atmosphere all in keeping with the historical nature of this
impressive building.
In its restaurant visitors can sample some typical cuisine such as 'ajo blanco'
(cold garlic and almond soup), partridge salad, 'pipirrana' (tomato and
cucumber salad) and Jaén-style spinach (with egg).
