Lanzarote Weather

It is thanks to the weather in Lanzarote that the island has experienced such a boom in its tourist industry. With total annual rainfall averaging around 14cm and annual average temperatures of around 21°C there’s plenty to attract sun starved northern European tourists. Whilst summer temperatures can rocket to around 32°C there’s often a pleasant breeze which prevents the island having to endure the intense heat of the Sahara.

Lanzarote is the closest of the Canary Islands to the Sahara and sometimes experiences hot, sandy winds which appear like a descending fog which covers everything in its path with a layer of orange coloured dust. It’s great for the island’s car wash businesses!

Below is the current Lanzarote weather and the latest 7 day forecast. Under that you will find two graphs showing the average temperatures and rainfall during the year.
