Why are football tickets so
expensive?
Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu stadium has
a capacity of 75,000. Practically all of these seats are taken by season
ticket holders so it is very rare that any tickets are made available for public
sale. The only way to get tickets these days seems to be to go through
third parties who acquire tickets from season ticket holders and from contacts
at the club.
The story is similar at Barcelona where
there are more members than the 98,000 capacity. The attendances have been
lower in recent years than in Madrid but that doesn't mean that many tickets are
available as members still own their seat and may leave it vacant rather than
sell it to anyone.

Is there any cheaper way to
get Real Madrid tickets?
1. Until the recent superstar influx
it was possible to call the ticket line of the Caja Madrid Bank on 902 324324 to
pre-order up to 6 tickets and pay by credit card. It's worth a try but
don't hold your breath as the line is usually engaged and if you do get through
they never seem to have availability. If you are fortunate you can collect
the tickets at the stadium or from a specified branch of Caja Madrid.
2. Ticket booths ("taquillas") are located by gate 42 of the stadium
(on C/ Concha Espina). They usually open two days before a match (check the
daily football newspaper Marca for details) from 11-13 hours and 18-21 hours and
early on the day of a match. Unfortunately, they only seem to have tickets
available for members to collect.
3. On the day of a match touts
congregate outside gate 42 and it is possible to buy from them. Prices are
very high and don't believe anyone showing you a postcard of the stadium and
showing you what a great seat he is selling to you. In addition, forgeries
have been found at the big games and plain clothed policemen often patrol this
area to discourage the black market. This is a method to be
avoided.
A contact recently informed me after the
Real Madrid v Barcelona game that ".... I was advised not to take any ticket off the touts as 98% of them are fake so I watched the game from a bar beside the stadium."

Is there any cheaper way to
get Barcelona tickets?
A few days before a
normal league match usually about 4,000 tickets go on sale so you have the
following options:
1.
Phone the club in advance (Tel. (00 34) 93 496 36 00) to find out exactly when the tickets will
go on sale and queue at the ticket office (taquillas)
on Travessera de les Corts before the taquillas open.
2.
Wait at the entrance gates on the afternoon of the game and ask if
anyone has extra tickets. This
does sometimes work as members sell off their friend’s ticket who
couldn’t make the game.
3.
Try your luck with the ticket touts who usually stand in front of
the ticket office on the day the tickets go on sale and on matchday.
4.
A few of the city’s upmarket hotels have been known to have
access to tickets (at a price). Try
the reception at the Hotel Colón (Avenida de la Catedral, 7 – 08002
Barcelona – Tel. 93 301 1404).

Do you arrange tours of the
Nou Camp?
No we don't arrange tours but all you have
to do is go to the stadium and visit the museum and take one of the regular
stadium tours.
The Barca museum is the best footballing
museum in the world, it is also the most popular museum of any kind in Catalonia
receiving more than 1¼ million visitors a year. The museum offers the
chance to really get to know the stadium by taking a guided tour through the
installations, which takes visitors into the opposition changing rooms, down the
tunnel and onto the pitch itself. Fans can sit in the dugouts and look out
across the magnificent stadium. The altar, the TV studio, the press rooms and
the directors area virtually complete the tour, with the one final surprise of a
chance to touch the European Cup rounding off a memorable experience.
Opening hours
From Monday to Saturday: 10:00-18:30
Sundays and holidays: 10:00-14:00
1/1, 6/1, 24/9 and 25/12, closed

Once I've paid are my
tickets guaranteed ?
Yes - once we receive payment your tickets
are guaranteed at the price you paid for them. From time to time we have
to change prices usually due to unanticipated demand for a particular
game. For example, the final matches of a season will decide the
championship so prices tend to jump significantly once it becomes clear which
matches could prove to be the title decider.

Do you arrange
football packages including flights and hotels?
For
several years we offered football "packages" to Madrid and Barcelona but now
find that with growing internet awareness and the abundance of cheap
flights from the UK practically everyone is just looking for match tickets.
Therefore, we have set up online links which allow you to book your hotels and
flights directly online which works out cheaper than buying our former packages.
Please take a look at our Madrid
hotels and Barcelona hotels
pages where you will find a selection of city centre hotels which have
been recommended by former customers and are available at special
internet prices.

How do I know my
tickets will be delivered?
1) Spanish Fiestas is a Limited Company which for the purpose of
selling event tickets in Spain are official agents of a fully
bonded travel agency in Barcelona
called Mainevent SL. We have an impeccable
online reputation for event ticketing which enables us to go from
strength to strength as the chosen supplier of tickets for Spanish
football games.2) Unlike other ticket brokers, we use our own staff for deliveries.
This means that the tickets always get to you. Using a courier company is
too risky because sometimes hotels refuse to accept ticket deliveries in which
case they are returned to the office of the courier company until Monday!
Then what do you do?
3) You will always have a phone number that you can call if you have
any problem with tickets once you arrive in Barcelona.
Here are a few comments from some
satisfied
customers.
No other seller of Spanish football tickets can offer you such
comprehensive legal and financial security in making your
purchase. Back to Top
How come your terms & conditions are almost the same as
those of other ticket sellers?
Because they copy from our site! We're constantly finding new sites trying to
compete with us but as they aren't owned and run by native English speakers they
choose to blatantly steal our content. This matter has been raised with Google,
Yahoo and MSN search engines. For legal reason we cannot list these despicable
sites but you'll no doubt run into them as you look around.
