Barcelona has a fine selection of clubs, many of which are the haunts of the city's celebrities and its self-proclaimed 'beautiful people'. Entrance fees vary according to what entertainment they have planned and you'll get into some for free if you arrive early enough though there might be nobody else there. In general, clubs don't start to fill up before 1am at the earliest and keep going until sunrise. Here are just a few of the better known clubs around town most of which operate a strict dress code so if you're planning on clubbing be sure to dress accordingly.

Here I've listed a good cross section of clubs in Barcelona with their websites. I'd suggest that you take a look around these sites before traveling to get a feel for the different clubs which should help you decide which ones are for you when you get there. You can find more information about many of these clubs at Club Collective.

Elephant
Passatge dels Til.lers, 1
Metro: Zona Universitaria
Website: www.elephantbcn.com
This is a typical party night club. The music does not start here until 1am but often cocktails are served beforehand, and getting in early means no cover charge There are fast DJs, great beats, and good music for the younger, hipper crowd. This is often a great party scene, a place to both start and end your night.

Otto Zutz
Carrer de Lincoln, 15
Metro: Fontana
Website: www.ottozutz.es/
Another great club that is known for fantastic beats and a great place to have a hen or stag party as well. These parties are welcome here though dressing up for the hen parties might be frowned upon. The crowd is a little more mature which adds to the rich atmosphere.

Baja Beach Club
Paseo Maritimo, 34
Metro: Vila Olimpica,
Website: www.bajabeach.es/
The Beach Club is a laid back and loose party atmosphere. It is a place to end the night with feisty music and an enjoyable crowd. This is often one of the last clubs open, just past dawn, so it might be the best place to finish up. Also the coverscharge tend to be lower here than at other venues. This is the place where the beach goers and the party crowd love to be.

Luz de Gas
Carrer de Muntaner, 246
Metro: Hospital Clinic
Website: www.luzdegas.com
Another great club, this is one that caters to a younger audience. The college crowd is usually to be found here and often stay well into the early hours enjoying the casual and care free atmosphere.

City Hall
Rambla de Catalunya, 2
Metro: Plaza Catalunya
Website: www.cityhall-bcn.com
A slightly more upscale club, City Hall is one that allows you to enjoy some of the finer things, such as expensive drinks, upscale food choices, and trendy music.

Razzmatazz
C/ Almogavers, 122
Metro: Marina
Website: www.salarazzmatazz.com
If you are looking for the friendliest club, this just might be the one that you choose. Great music to be had as well as great new acts nearly every single night. The company is laid back and the DJs are usually willing to take requests. The dress code is also more laid back here but men must be sure to wear a collared shirt and closed toed shoes.

Moog
Arc de Teatre, 3
Metro: Drassanes,
Website: www.masimas.com/moog
This club is a mix of young and old, which means that you can be anyone or any age and feel like you fit in. It is a fantastic place to either start your night or to end it. There is a good mix of younger and older clientele at this club.
