Playa de las Americas on the southern coast of Tenerife is one of the Canary Islands’ most popular locations. It is certainly one of the top destinations in Europe when all you want to do is chill out and have a good time! The weather in Playa de las Americas is perfect for holidays all year round with hot, dry summers and lovely, mild winters. There is little or no rain for most of the year especially in the summer months of May to September but the winter months do occasionally have some rain.

Things to do in Playa de las Americas

Beaches & Theme Parks: By day it’s the beaches where you’ll be spending most of your sunlight hours yet there are plenty alternatives when you need a change. Water parks are in abundance and you can take advantage of the high slides and inner tubes to get in touch with the child inside you.

Day Spas: If you need a break from the adrenaline of the theme parks you can relax in one of the many spas around. The day spas of Playa De Las Americas are among the best in Europe where you can relax in splendour, whether you want a full Swedish massage or just want to indulge in the steam room.

Nightlife: The nightlife in Playa De Las Americas is certainly one of the biggest attractions for visitors. Head to Veronica’s for one of the best night club scenes in the Canaries. This strip of night spots shows off a wide variety of music from rock to jazz to pop and with all that variety you’ll definitely be able to find a place where you can dance the night away!

Visit Teide: If you’re more interested in a little adventure don’t forget to take advantage of Playa De Las Americas’ proximity to the Parque Nacional del Teide, the island’s volcanic national park. The public bus service TITSA runs once a day from Playa De Las Americas though you might want to spend more than a day exploring the mountain slopes and the cool forests. Besides taking in the breathtaking beauty of the park itself, you’ll also have bragging rights about visiting the highest mountain in Spain.
