The beach at Playa de Talamanca has encouraged the development of a very pleasant little resort which is no more than a 20 minute stroll beyond the stylish marina to Ibiza Town. If that sounds too energetic then you can take a ferry into the capital. Talamanca is a quiet destination in itself which mainly attracts families with children who prefer to avoid the wild nightlife of Playa d’en Bossa to the south and Ibiza Town itself.
It’s a great choice if you just want to chill out on its sandy beach by day and dine in the fine restaurants of the marina by night. You’ll also find some nice restaurants along the waterfront with great views of the illuminated Ibiza Town at night. Children will be impressed by the proximity of the Aqualandia Water Park and the selection of boat excursions available from the marina.
Playa de Talamanca is particularly child friendly but for better sandy beaches with watersports it’s worthwhile taking a short hop to some of the better known beaches to the south of Ibiza Town including Figueretas, Playa d’en Bossa and Ses Salines.
Talamanca is very much geared towards family holidays so give it a miss if you’re looking for something livelier as there are plenty alternatives such as Playa d’en Bossa just to the south. On the other hand, if you like the idea of lazy days away from the revellers but prefer something livelier in the evening then it’s still a good choice as a base thanks to its proximity to the nightlife of Ibiza City and Playa d’en Bossa.
