Recommended Hotels in Alicante City

Alicante airport is the main arrival place for tourists coming to the Costa Blanca but most of them bypass Alicante City and go straight to a resort on the Costa Blanca. Alicante City is well worth visiting for at least one night if not more and if you do decide to spend a night there you will find some great hotels on this page.

Alicante 4 Star Hotels:

Hotel Husa Alicante Golf
Located some 800m from Playa de San Juan this beautiful property is a great choice for family holidays with access to a full-sized golf course.

Mediterranea Plaza Hotel
The main advantage of this hotel is its location in the centre of Alicante overlooking a square and the Town Hall. There are plenty of bars and shops around it and it is only a short walk to the beach and the marina. There is a sun terrace on the roof which has beautiful views of the castle. Not the most luxurious of 4 star hotels but this is made up for by the friendly staff and some good offers on prices.

Alicante 3 Star Hotels:

Castilla Alicante Hotel
This hotel is located very near the San Juan beach about a 15 minute car ride from Alicante centre. The area around the hotel is very Spanish and there are plenty of bars and restaurants around where you can sample some typical Spanish food. The hotel itself receives many excellent reviews for the friendly and helpful staff and the good service.

Hotel Albahia
This hotel is located very near the beach but a distance from Alicante city centre. It is about a 40 minute walk or a 10 minute bus or tram ride to the centre. Some of the rooms have beautiful sea views while others look out onto a cliff. You should ask for a room with sea view on arrival. This hotel is recommended for people looking for a quiet spot away from the city and is not a great option for families with young children.

Almirante Hotel
Located right on the beach near the small town of San Juan about a 15 min tram ride from the centre of Alicante. Many of the rooms have balconies where you can sit and relax.

Leuka Hotel
Located right in the centre of Alicante near to the beach, shopping area and the market this is a small functional hotel which is very clean and has a friendly atmosphere. Some of the rooms have balconies which are great to relax and watch the world go by. The on site cafe bar provides breakfast and some excellent tapas.
