Spain Private Tour ... Itinerary 18
Marty Zamora from Denver was attending a medical convention in Madrid and
decided to combine the convention with a Spain touring vacation. Along with his
wife and daughter they arrived in Barcelona where they spent a couple of days
before taking a domestic flight down to Granada. On Monday March 27th they met
our official Alhambra tour guide at the reception of the beautiful Parador hotel
which lies within the grounds of the Alhambra. They enjoyed a private tour of
the complex then spent the rest of the day enjoying the other main sights of
Granada.
The next morning we met at 10am and drove across Jaén province with its
millions of olive trees to Cordoba. Here they had lunch at the excellent Caballo
Rojo restaurant, visited the Mezquita and Jewish Quarter then we headed off to
Seville where they checked into the Alfonso XIII hotel.
On Wednesday morning they met Concepción, our Seville tour guide for a walking
tour of the old city followed by a visit to the Cathedral. The rest of the day
was spent wandering around the many wonderful sights of the city.On the
morning of Thursday 30th we again met at 10am and headed south to Jerez de la
Frontera where we collected tickets for the dancing horses show which takes
place every Thursday at 12 noon.
After the show we drove across to the coast at Sanlucar for an exquisite
seafood lunch at Bajo de Guia on a terrace overlooking Doñana national park.
After lunch we returned to Jerez then continued inland to Arcos de la Frontera
for a stroll around the historic centre of this white village which stands high
on a cliff top overlooking the extensive valley below.
On returning to Seville we said our goodbyes and I left Marty and family to
continue their working vacation.
The following morning they took the high speed AVE train from Seville to Madrid.
From Madrid they went to spend a night in Toledo and booked an excursion with us
from Toledo to Avila and El Escorial which ended in Madrid just in time for the
start of the convention the following morning. |
