Spain Private Tour ... Itinerary 6
Madrid - Toledo - Cordoba - Seville - Ronda - Marbella -
Granada - Barcelona. Andrew Hooks and his wife and daughter
arrived in Madrid in mid-December at the start of this 3 week vacation to Spain.
They had a couple of days in Madrid seeing the main sights and staying at the
Reina Victoria before we began our tour. On the first morning we
met at the hotel reception and headed to the Parador of Toledo where the family
would spend the rest of the day visiting the Imperial City. On
Tuesday 16th December we left in the dark of early morning and went south
through the thick fog of Castilla La Mancha which cleared as we entered
Andalucia and continued on to Cordoba. The Amistad Cordoba was the chosen hotel.
On the Wednesday morning they visited the Mezquita and the rest of the day was
spent visiting the extraordinary sights of this former capital of the Western
Moorish Empire. The following day we headed west to Seville via
Carmona visiting the Cathedral and Giralda in the afternoon. Friday was a
shopping and rest day in Seville with a flamenco performance in the evening. And
Saturday was another relaxing day including a
horse drawn carriage tour of the city. On the morning of Sunday
21st December we drove down towards Jerez and continued via the Pueblos Blancos
and Grazalema to Ronda staying at the Parador in the city centre.
Then on the Monday morning we continued down the mountain to Marbella where the
family would spend the Christmas period at the Puente Romano Hotel.
The following Sunday (28th) we met at their hotel early in the morning for a
transfer to Granada where they would stay for two nights at the Palacio de Santa
Paula and would visit the Alhambra Palace and other main sights of Granada.
On Tuesday 30th December Andrew and his family flew from Granada to Barcelona
where they celebrated the New Year at the Hotel Arts before returning home a few
days later.
