Spain Private Tour ... Itinerary 3
Malaga to Seville via Ronda - Cordoba - Granada - Costa del Sol.
On Day 1 in May 2003 Gordon and Kerry arrived at Malaga airport from
London at 1.15pm.
We headed west along the Costa del Sol then took the spectacular mountain
climb upto the picturesque town of Ronda where we stopped for lunch. After
lunch we followed the route of the Pueblos Blancos (white villages) across to
Seville where our guests would stay in the Alfonso XIII hotel. The evening was
spent on a tapas tour of the Barrio Santa Cruz.
All Day 2 was spent sightseeing. The hotel's pool was most welcome with
temperatures reaching 40ºC during the afternoon. The evening's entertainment
included a flamenco performance at Los Gallos.
After
breakfast on Day 3 we left Seville and headed for Cordoba with a brief
stop at the Parador of Carmona. Gordon and Kerry checked into the Parador of
Cordoba and rest of the day was spent visiting the sights of Cordoba notably the
magnificent Mezquita.
On Day 4 with the Feria de Cordoba in full swing we left after breakfast
and took the 'olive oil route' through the province of Jaén to Granada staying
at the Hotel Plaza Nueva from which there are views across to the Alhambra from
the bedroom window. Evening visit to the Mirador de San Nicolás for a
spectacular view of the Alhambra at sunset.
The morning of Day 5 centred on a visit to the Alhambra Palace for a
three hour guided tour followed by lunch in the Albaicín district. Dinner in the
evening was at a restaurant with panoramic views of the illuminated Alhambra.
After breakfast on Day 6 we headed down to the coast and stopped at
Nerja. A visit to the Nerja caves was followed by a relaxing afternoon on the
beach and dinner in the evening at a local restaurant with a seaview terrace.
Day 7 was the final one involving an early transfer to Malaga airport for
a midday departure back to the UK.
Hi Gerry,
Back at work now and Spain seems like a distant memory. Just a word of thanks
for all your efforts to make our holiday a special time. Looking forward to
seeing the photos on the web site.
Best of luck
