Tenerife Airport Transfers
Tenerife has two airports so if you're travelling independently make sure you
know where you'll be landing. In the vast majority of cases this will be the
modern Tenerife Sur Airport, in the south of the island, which welcomes over
nine million passengers every year.
It is the main arrival point in Tenerife
offering easy access to the main island resorts of Los Cristianos,
Playa de las
Americas and Costa Adeje. It will also be your arrival point if you're staying
on the west coast near Los Gigantes or the smaller resorts to the south.
Tenerife Sur Airport remains open 24 hours a day offering all the services you'd
expect including banks with currency exchange, ATMs, car rental and a helpful
tourist information office.
The older Tenerife Norte Airport is in the north of the island offering easy
access to the capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and the north's main resort,
Puerto de la Cruz. Most arrivals are internal flights from other Canary Islands
although a few international flights do land here. Currency exchange and car
rental services are available but little else. Tenerife Sur Airport Transfers
This airport lies 20km east of Playa de las Americas, and the journey takes less
than 30 minutes. All international charter flights land here as well as most
scheduled flights from the Spanish mainland. This will most likely be your point
of arrival.
By Bus:
There are regular bus services running from the airport to Playa de las Americas
and Los Cristianos. They depart hourly from 8.10am from the airport and the bus
to look out for is Nș 487. You can check this timetable on
TITSA bus website. The price is under €2.00. For other
destinations just select the bus route from the table on the
TITSA site and you'll get the latest timetable.
Private Transfers A popular alternative to buses and taxis is to
pre-book a Tenerife airport
transfer and have a driver waiting for you on arrival. Such transfers are
available to destinations all over the island and vehicles are available for all
group sizes.

This airport lies just 11km from Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the north of the
island. It mainly caters for internal flights to other Canary Islands and
welcomes a few domestic arrivals from mainland Spain and a handful of scheduled
international flights. So the chances are that you won't be landing here. If you
do, however, here are the main ways to get to your final destination.
By Bus
There are regular buses from the airport to Santa Cruz and to Puerto de la Cruz.
A few daily services go from Puerto de la Cruz to the Tenerife Norte Airport
then continue on to the Tenerife Sur Airport. Take a look at the
TITSA bus
website for the latest timetable. Private Transfers
A convenient option is to
pre-book a Tenerife airport transfer with one of the
private hire companies. They'll have a driver waiting for you and they cater for
all destinations and group sizes. Check out the four companies listed
under Tenerife Sur Airport transfers as they also offer services from this
airport.

Taxi services into Santa Cruz de Tenerife cost around €17 whilst a taxi to
Puerto de la Cruz will set you back in the region of €28.
