Spain Airports
The official website of Spain's airports can be found at
www.aena.es. Here you'll find a guide to
Spain's 47 airports with location maps. Currently the information is only
available in Spanish.
Take a look at our Spain Airports Map to get
an idea of where they are located and what transfer alternatives exist.
Below you'll find transfer options from some of Spain's major airports to
their respective city centres.
Barcelona
BUS: The Aerobus, which stops outside each terminal every 15 minutes,
is the quickest and easiest way to get to the city centre (Plaça Catalunya).
TRAIN: Renfe Trains (www.renfe.es) run every half hour at 13 and 43 past
the hour, and the journey to Barcelona-Sants takes 20 minutes.
The walk across the covered bridge between Terminals A and B isn't convenient so
the bus option to Plaça Catalunya is preferable.
TAXI: An excellent option if you have a lot of baggage, as it’s a fast
run into town. The fare to central Barcelona should be about €20, plus a
supplement for each large item of luggage.
PRIVATE TRANSFERS: A very convenient service is to
pre-book Barcelona Airport Transfers and have a driver meet you and deliver
you to your destination. Vehicles are available for all group sizes and to all
destinations.
Madrid
TRAIN: The new Metro line 8 (pink) links Barajas airport to the city
centre at Nuevos Ministerios in 12 minutes. Very fast and cheap but you'll need to change train if heading for the Puerta del Sol and Gran Via
area. See www.metromadrid.es.
BUS: The long standing special airport bus service from the airport to
Plaza Colón no longer operates and has been replaced by regular bus services as
follows:
No. 101 line from Canillejas-Airport (T1, T2, T3).
No. 200 line from Avda. de América-Canillejas-Airport (T1, T2, T3).
No. 204 line from Avda. de América-Canillejas-Airport (T4).
Intercity line no. 822 Coslada-Airport-Canillejas-Airport (T1, T2, T3).
There is a special bus service from Barajas Metro (Underground) station to T4.
TAXI: Taxis charge around €16 from the airport to the city centre and
take approximately 20 minutes outside peak hours. Make sure the meter is
switched on when you start as drivers are notorious for ripping off new
arrivals.
PRIVATE TRANSFERS: A very convenient service is to
pre-book Madrid Airport Transfers and have a driver meet you and deliver you
to your destination. Vehicles are available for all group sizes and to all
destinations.
Malaga
TRAIN: Excellent service. The train station is five minutes walk from
the arrivals area. Trains run half-hourly to Málaga to the east and Fuengirola,
via Torremolinos and Benalmádena to the west. If you are heading for Málaga, get
off at the last station, Centro- Alameda. Buy your ticket from the machine on
the platform.
BUSES: The bus stop is just outside the arrivals hall. There is a
half-hourly service to Málaga
(6.30am-11.30pm) with links to all the coastal resorts and many inland
destinations.
ROAD: If you’re renting a car and heading for the Costa del Sol resorts,
follow the signs to Torremolinos-Cádiz.
PRIVATE TRANSFERS: A very convenient service is to
pre-book
Malaga Airport Transfers and have a driver meet you and deliver you to your
destination. Vehicles are available for all group sizes and to all destinations.
Palma Mallorca
BUS: A regular service to central Palma starts at 6.10am and runs
every 20 minutes from 7.45am until 10.05pm. Last bus is at 1am. From Calle
Eusebio Estada in Palma you'll find connections to all over the island.
TRAINS: Trains leave Plaça d’Espanya for Sa Pobla or Manacor, via Santa
Maria, Binissalem and Inca, between 5.50am and 10pm. A separate railway offers a
beautiful journey from Plaça d’Espanya to Sóller.
ROAD: For all destinations to the north and west of Mallorca just head for
Palma. For eastern Mallorca head towards Llucmajor and Manacor.
TAXI: The most convenient option for getting to Palma and nearby resorts.
Fares to Palma are metered. Fixed prices apply to all other destinations.
PRIVATE TRANSFERS: A very convenient service is to
pre-book Mallorca Airport Transfers and have a driver meet you and deliver
you to your destination. Vehicles are available for all group sizes and to all
destinations.
Ibiza
TAXI: Approximate taxi prices from outside arrivals are as follows:
Ibiza Town €10 (10 mins); San Antonio €20 ( 30 mins); Santa Eulalia €20 ( 30
mins).
ROAD: If you're renting a car take the only road out of the airport which leads
to Ibiza Town (Eivissa), then Santa Eulalia. Turn left 200 metres from the
airport for San José then San Antonio.
BUS: The excellent airport bus service charges just €1 to Ibiza Town. It
departs every hour from immediately outside arrivals from 7.30am-10.30pm and
takes 20 minutes.
Bilbao
BUS: An airport bus runs to the city centre every 30 minutes. It
operates between 6.40am and 10.30pm and is the most economical way of covering
the 10km journey.

centre.
