The Salamanca Parador, which was completely renovated and
reopened in February 2004, stands on a small hill opposite the
university city of Salamanca. It is in a perfect location for
exploring the monumental area of the city and not to be missed are
the Plaza Mayor, the Gothic 'New Cathedral' with its magnificent
tower and the Romanesque 'Old Cathedral'. The common rooms of this
modern parador are spacious and elegant and offer panoramic views as
do the swimming pool and most of the bedrooms.
Guests can make the most of the restaurant to sample Salamancan
cuisine such as 'hornazo' (bread filled with meat), Hinojosa cheese,
'tostón' (roast suckling pig), 'rosquillas de Ledesma' (a type of
doughnut) and 'almendrados' (macaroons).
