The Ciudad Rodrigo Parador is located in a 14th century castle
which overlooks a Roman bridge on the river Agueda and offers views
across into Portugal. The gardens of this parador are beautiful and
lead into a wonderful courtyard. The bedrooms are bright and
cheerful and some have excellent views. The town itself is quiet but
interesting with many Renaissance mansions, impressive city walls
and a perfect Plaza Mayor.
The restaurant gives guests an opportunity to sample some typical
Salamancan dishes such as 'huevos farinato' (an egg dish), delicious
roasts and Iberian hams.
