Cardona Parador |
The Cardona Parador is located in the town of Cardona, about half way between
Barcelona and Andorra. It is housed in a medieval, hillside castle which
dominates the town and has beautiful views of the valley of the river Cardoner.
Inside the grounds lie a 2nd century tower and an 11th century church which
contains the tombs of the counts of Cardona. Some of the bedrooms have four
poster beds. La Salina, a salt mountain, is only one kilometre away and is well
worth a visit.
The excellent Catalan restaurant offers many typical dishes such as 'butifarra
con mongetes' (sausage with haricot beans) and a variety of wild mushrooms.
