Sa Coma Tourist Information
Sa Coma is a friendly resort on Mallorca's east
coast just south of the better known Cala Millor.
Although there's plenty of accommodation available the resort hasn't grown into a
mass tourism destination and is best suited for anyone looking for a relaxed
family holiday with access to a nice beach.
A long promenade runs along the seafront and connects with the neighbouring
resort of S'Illot via a small bridge which allows for pleasant strolls or bike
rides.
The typical rowdy tourist bars of the main resorts haven't made their way to Sa
Coma though there are a few British bars around. The Royal Oak, Fox & Hound and
the Britannia Bar are good spots for typical British food whilst the Sportsmans
is the place to head for if you need Sky TV. There are many other bars catering
more to the German market. There's a good range of restaurants along the
beachfront.
Good places to stay include the
Palmeras Playa Aparthotel, the
Blau Mediterraneo Hotel and the
Protur Sa Coma Playa Hotel and Spa.
There are some nice beaches in both direction along the coast from Sa Coma and
it's a good idea to rent a car and take a drive along this
east coast to
discover some of its beautiful little coves. Nearby
Porto Cristo is home to the Caves of Drach which are one of the island's
most popular tourist attractions.
If you don't fancy driving then take one of the boat trips from Sa Coma which
show you many of the highlights of this beautiful coast.
The Auto Safari Zoo
near Cala Millor is a small safari park that
you can drive around yourself or take the park's own train to get around.
However, we've been informed by the
Born Free Foundation
that this zoo is on their list of top 10 most compained about animal
'attractions'. Animals are kept in terrible conditions and you should give it a
miss. (Here's their letter ...)
