Madrid Walking Tours

The main attractions of Madrid's art circuit are all within easy walking distance of the city centre.

The top three galleries (Prado, Thyssen Bornemisza and Reina Sofia museums) are all on or just off Paseo del Prado.

You can arrange for a private guide to show you around any combination of these three galleries as well as the Royal Palace if you wish.

Typically the tour begins with a stroll around Old Madrid including Plaza Mayor then you head to the Royal Palace which is a fine example 18th century Italian architecture.

Leaving the Royal Palace you'll head to Plaza de Oriente, Iglesia de San Francisco, Plaza de la Paja, the Ayuntamiento, Plaza Mayor, C/Santa Isabel, Atocha Railway Station, Paseo del Prado and the Retiro Gardens.

Typically you would visit two of the three galleries in one afternoon as all three would be too much to take in on one afternoon.

Below are a few suggested art tours.

Madrid Art Tours

If you're interested in a pre-arranged art tour whilst in Madrid you should consider the following:

1) Special Madrid Artistic and Panoramic City Tour (Tour Ref: 1302). This is a scheduled coach tour of Madrid's main galleries including the Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen Museums.

2) Madrid Royal Palace and Prado Museum Artistic Tour (Tour Ref: 1303). This is another scheduled coach tour which begins with a visit to the Royal Palace then continues on to the Prado Museum where you will be given a guided tour within your tour group.

3) Private Tour of the Prado Museum and Royal Palace (Tour Ref: 1067). If you'd prefer a private tour of the Prado and the Royal Palace then this tour is ideal.  It includes an English speaking chauffeur and official tour guide.

4) Private Walking Tour of the Prado and Reina Sofia Museums (Tour Ref: 1206). This private walking tour of two of Madrid's great galleries includes the services of an official English speaking guide who will show you around some of the main works in each gallery.

If you'd prefer to customise a private art tour simply use any of the above links and send your request through the contact link on that page.
