Madrid Private Excursions
On the Madrid private excursions listed below you are collected at your hotel reception by an
English speaking driver who will transfer you to your chosen destination.
On arrival you will meet an official, English speaking tour guide who will
give you a private tour of particular attractions.
The most popular private excursion destinations are as follows:
Toledo was the capital of medieval Spain until 1560 where Arabs,
Christians and Jews once lived together in relative harmony.
Felipe II’s monastery-palace of El Escorial is one of Spain’s most
famous sights. A few kilometres away is El Valle De Los Caídos (Valley
of the Fallen) which is a monument to those who died in the Spanish Civil War.
Segovia is home to a 2000 year old Roman aqueduct which is one of the
best remaining monuments of the Roman Empire whilst the Alcázar was reputedly
the inspiration for Walt Disney's Cinderella castle.
Further west is the ancient, walled city of Avila which was the
birthplace of Saint Teresa. And further on is the university city of
Salamanca.
If your time in Madrid doesn't allow for excursions beyond the capital then
you might be interested in a Private Madrid City Tour
which will show you the city's main tourist attractions.
A more economical option than the private tour is to reserve one of several scheduled
Coach Excursions from Madrid and
City Tours of Madrid. These half and
full day excursions are operated by Pullmantur, one of Spain's largest
travel agencies. Transport is by luxury, air-conditioned coach.
