Lanzarote Nightlife
The nightlife of Lanzarote, although not as wild as some of the other Spanish
resorts, in particular, the Balearics, is still very entertaining and varied.
Depending on where you are staying for your holiday and what you particularly
enjoy by way of evening entertainment, you are sure to find something to meet
your needs.
The Spanish tend to centre their night time around their evening meal and what a
feast this can turn out to be. This often takes quite a long time, as in a true
Spanish or Canarian restaurant many of the meals consist of "tapas" which are
small portions of many local and international delicacies.
However, when the meal is over and you want to move on you have a great choice
of bars, TV sports bars, discos, night clubs and so on.
If a wild nightlife is what you are searching for, you should go to Puerto Del
Carmen. Here you will find endless restaurants, pubs, and disco bars. The main
area for the young and energetic holidaymakers is in the Centro Atlantico, where
you will come across music venues with live entertainment as well as dj's
playing all the latest sounds. You will be singing those holiday songs in your
head for months after you return back home.
For something a little different why not go along to the Hawaiian Bar. Located
in the Avenida de las Playas, this chilled out bar offers funk and jazz music
and broadcasts their music live from the bar for a local radio station. The bar
has been around for over 25 years and is an all time favourite of many returning
holidaymakers of several different nationalities.
In Costa Teguise, the majority of the bars and restaurants are located on the
Avenida de Jabillo and this is the place to be for TV bars and sports bars where
you can keep up to date with your telelvision soaps (if you just cannot possibly
do without them) and stay ahead of the game with what is happening with all
things sport. It is a popular area for families and the nightlife here is
generally quieter than in Puerto Del Carmen. However, we all know how the Irish
love to enjoy themselves so if you fancy a dance in the street and a good old
sing song, don't miss the Irish bars in the Pueblo Marinero area of the resort.
The liveliest parts of Playa Blanca are in the Centro Comercial Papagayo and the
Centro Comercial Punto Limones which is close to the port, although theses areas
are still not able to match Puerto Del Carmen for the most exciting night time
entertainment on the island.
If you would rather have a more traditional and typically Spanish time in the
evenings you will not do better than going into the capital city of the island,
Arrecife. Here you will find a shortage of typical tourist type places,
especially if you make for Calle Jose Antonio or the Avenida de Fred Olsen
(that’s an easy one to remember) close to the Playa del Reducto.
