Lanzarote Car Rental
So you have decided to book a holiday in Lanzarote and now you just have to
work out what exactly you want to do whilst you are there. Have you thought
about hiring a car? This is a great idea, even if you do not intend to travel
much further than from one end of your resort to the other. However, if you want
to make the most of your visit, take off away from the crowds of tourists, and
discover the real sights and delights of this beautiful Canary Island, hiring a
car will be beneficial in many ways.
There are a few ways you can do this.
· You can hire your car at the time of booking your holiday – it's always best
to bear in mind the island is busy during the summer season so you may need to
book early!
· You can book independently on line and take advantage of special offers such
as free upgrades etc., and your car will be waiting for you to collect upon your
arrival from one of the many car hire representatives within the airport
terminal.
· You can look around the car hire places when you get to your resort and hope
they have something suitable left.
It is worth considering, especially if holidaying on a tight budget, that if you
pick your car up from the airport you will have no need to take up the airport
to resort transfer option with your holiday company, so taking this into
account, the car hire will cost you considerably less.
Let's use the independent booking on line way as an example.
When you make your booking on line, you will be asked for details of your
travel, such as flight number and arrival time. All you really have to decide is
how long you would like to have the car for and what type of vehicle you
require. Although it costs a little more, a model with air con would be much
better during the summer months as driving in the sunshine can be extremely hot
and stuffy. Open top vehicles look good, but think about the sun beating down on
your head. You really don't need sunstroke during your holiday! How many people
are in your party? You need to be comfortable whilst you are touring around. If
you intend taking to the mountains you should hire a vehicle which is suitable
for this kind of terrain.
Once you have made your decision about which type of car to get, you can ask for
an instant quote, submit your name and address and credit card details (although
these are not usually charged until your arrival at the airport) and request any
additional services such as an additional named driver, or child safety seats to
be installed in the case of babies or children being transported in the hire
car. Before making that final click and committing yourself, make sure you are
fully aware of the insurance included in the car hire price and that the cover
is relevant to your needs.
Now all you need to do when you arrive on the island is to pay your invoice,
show your driving licence and away you go! The road signs are straightforward
and easy to understand and even though you may not be driving on the same side
of the road as you do at home, you will soon get used to it and not have too
many problems.
When your holiday has come to an end you simply drop the car back off at the
airport and hand in the keys. Remember to allow enough time to do this so you
are not checking in your baggage later than the recommended time before your
flight takes off.
