Granada city breaks have never been so accessible thanks the opening up of
Granada airport to the budget airlines. If there isn't a service operating from
near you then fly to Malaga and take the 1˝ hour journey to Granada by road.
Granada is a magical city and one of the great tourist destinations of Europe.
With its breathtaking views of the snow-capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada
mountains, its Moorish ambience and the extraordinary
Alhambra palace you
cannot fail to fall in love with the city.
Below is a basic itinerary based on a simple two night stay.
Suggested Itinerary:
Day 1
On arrival at Granada or Malaga airport transfer to your chosen hotel in the
historic centre of Granada. Visit the new Arab Baths for a relaxing aromatherapy
massage to help unwind from
your journey.
Granada is famous for its tapas because not only are they generally of
excellent quality but they come free with drinks! This evening you can tour the
tapas bars around Plaza Nueva or go to one of our
recommended Granada restaurants.
Day 2
Prior to your trip you should have booked
Alhambra tickets so this morning
you will head up the Alhambra hill and take a tour of what is undoubtedly the jewel of Moorish Spain. If you prefer, you can
pre-book a private guide who will meet you at the entrance to the Palace then
take you on a private guided tour lasting approximately 3 hours.
In the afternoon and early evening you should head into the Moorish quarter of the Albaicín,
take a drink at the Mirador de San Nicolás then watch the spectacular sunset
with the Sierra Nevada mountains in the background.
Later on you might like to attend a flamenco performance in the caves of
Sacramonte.
