Getting to Barcelona ...
Flights to Barcelona
Barcelona is one of the most popular European destinations for short breaks with
flights from all over Europe. The above link takes you to a list of airlines offering flights
to Barcelona's El Prat airport from the UK and Ireland.
Flights to Girona
With the boom in budget air travel Girona has been marketed as an alternative to
flying into El Prat. Be warned that it is 100km from Girona airport to Barcelona
so the saving in flight prices might not be worthwhile when you add in the cost
of transfers.
Barcelona Airport Transfers
It's very easy to get from the airport to Barcelona centre by bus, train or
taxi. Alternatively, you can pre-book a vehicle and driver. Don't bother renting
a car if you're only going to be in the city.
Girona Airport Transfers
Bus and train options are available though the private door to door transfer is
very nice when you have a 100km journey ahead of you.
Where to Stay in Barcelona ...

themselves as "more than a club".
Kick Off Times
The day and time of kick off for most league matches is only announced a week
before the game. It could be as early as 7pm on Saturday and as late as 10pm on
Sunday. So you must plan on being in Barcelona from Saturday afternoon until
Monday morning.
For confirmation of FC Barcelona and Espanyol kick off times go to the Spanish FA's
website at http://www.lfp.es/.
This doesn't appear in English so what you need to do is select "Calendario" in
the right hand column. On the resulting page find the date of your match (eg.
D-04 means Sunday 4th) and click on the "Jornada". The left hand column then
lists the date (Saturday or Sunday) and kick off times together with which TV
company will cover the match. This is usually available on the Monday before the
weekend of your visit.
Watch Espanyol
If FC Barcelona are playing away from home during your visit then you can
still see a match at the Olympic Stadium, home of Espanyol FC.

Getting to the Stadium
Espanyol now play in the Olympic Stadium which is located on the mountain of
Montjuic overlooking the whole city. You can take the
underground to Paral-lel on purple line 2 or green line 3 then go up the
mountain on the funicular railway. Alternatively, jump on any one of the many
buses heading for Montjuic.
