Barcelona Card

The Barcelona Card is a highly regarded travel pass issued by the Official Tourism Association of Barcelona. It offers unlimited free travel on public transport including the airport train, metro and urban buses as well as free entries and discounts to many of Barcelona’s major attractions.

Passes are available for 2,3 and 5 days and every card comes with a free guidebook in English with helpful information on the establishments associated with the card as well as a city map. More and more establishments including museums, attractions, shops and restaurants continue to sign-up to the Barcelona Card programme. If you buy the Barcelona Card online you simply print out a booking confirmation form at home which you then present at the tourist information office in Barcelona airport (with ID) which is open from 9am to 9pm. You can then take the RENFE airport train into the city at no extra charge. Alternatively, you can collect your Barcelona Card at the main tourist information office under Plaça de Catalunya or any other official tourist information office.

Other Barcelona Discount Cards

The Barcelona Card is obviously the best discount card for travel in Barcelona thanks to the sheer number of places offering discounts within the program. However, there are a few more discount cards that you might be interested to know about:

(1) Art Ticket Barcelona

This multiticket initiative was launched by some of Barcelona’s most important art centres offering discounted admission to the following major museums:

The Art Ticket is available at official tourist offices including the main one under Plaça de Catalunya, at some branches of the Caixa de Catalunya bank and online at Telentrada.com

(2) Ruta del Modernisme Pack

If visiting the Gaudi architecture is the main focus of your visit then you should consider buying a copy of the Modernisme Route guidebook which contains the most comprehensive coverage of Modernisme in Barcelona. The book includes discounts of up to 50% on the admission charge to all the Modernist monuments in the city. It is available from most good bookshops but you’ll need to take it to one of the following Modernisme centres to collect your discount vouchers:
