Spain Art Tours
Spain has a wealth of art for visitors to appreciate. Below we have created a
suggested itinerary which would encompass the main highlights. If you'd be

Day 1: On arrival in Madrid you will be met at the airport and transferred to
your city centre hotel. You will then be free to have your first look around
this magnificent city. Overnight in Madrid.
Day 2: After breakfast we will head to the Prado Museum for a guided tour.
After a break for lunch we will visit the Museum Thyssen Bornemisza. Overnight
in Madrid.
Day 3: This morning we head to Toledo where we will visit the cathedral and
the Santo Tome Church which contains El Greco's master piece - The Burial of the
Count of Orgaz. We will stop at the Royal Palace at Aranjuez on our return.
Overnight in Madrid.
Day 4: This morning we can visit the home of Joaquin Sorolla, the 19th
century impressionist painter. In the afternoon we head to the Reina Sofia
Modern Art Museum, home of Picasso's Guernica. Overnight in Madrid.
Day 5: We now move on to Burgos which is one of Spain's most important cities
for Gothic art as displayed by its magnificent Cathedral. Overnight in Burgos.
Day 6: After breakfast we drive directly to the Guggenheim museum near Bilbao
where you will have several hours available before we move onto Pamplona, famous
for the bull running, where we spend the night.
Day 7: This morning we continue to Gaudi's Barcelona, a trip which is
worthwhile for the architecture alone. After checking into our hotel you might
like to head to the Contemporary Art Museum of Barcelona or alternatively visit
the Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's masterpiece.
Day 8: Today we start with a visit to the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya
which is the city's best art museum. In the afternoon we visit the famous
Picasso Museum. Overnight Barcelona
Day 9: Today you might like to take it easy and wander around Barcelona with
the help of the tourist bus routes or alternatively take an excursion to Figueras, the birth place of Salvador Dali, where we can visit the excellent
Dalí museum. Tonight you can enjoy a goodbye dinner at a select Catalan
restaurant.
Day 10: Transfer to Barcelona airport for your return flight home
