Most apartments for rent in Almunecar are within walking distances of the
beaches. There are a few apartments in the likes of Fuentes de Almunecar and Los
Pinos but these are a little too far up the hill for most visitors and neither
area offers any facilities in terms of bars, restauarnts or shops.
Far more appealing to most visitors is to look for something in or near the
residential zone of Taramay which offers easy access to facilities and is
walking distance to the pleasant beaches of Pozuelo, Tesorillo, Galera and
Cabria. Heading along the coast road from Taramay you'll see the whole beach
front lined with apartment blocks overlooking Playa Velilla.

Many of these can be rented locally off season but tend not to be on the
market in the summer months when they are used by their Spanish owners. It's a
similar story at the other end of town along Playa de San Cristobal as far as
Cotobro. There are many properties but few are made available on the
international holiday rental websites.
A 10 minute drive west of Almunecar takes you to the residential area
surrounding Marina del Este where you'll find plenty apartments for rent. There
are some nice properties here and there's access to the beach at Playa de
Berengueles as well as some pricey bars and restaurants in the marina area.
